One of the ultimate themes in Scripture is God giving to man what man does not deserve or even appreciate, just because He is God. Therefore, the ultimate measure of spiritual growth in us is how much we grow in our vision of God until eternal things are all that really matter, and thus we have developed a grateful spirit. We have developed a spirit of gratitude for whatever God gives us. How different that is from our self-centered society of today! As we take a look at the story of the ten lepers who were healed by Jesus, we will see what it means to be grateful.
